Christopher Coenen has been at KIT-ITAS since 2002 as part of the New and Emerging Technosciences (NEST), Digital Information and Communication Technologies (DIGIT), and Nanotechnology (NANO) research groups. His areas of expertise focus on issues involving human enhancement, Internet and society, nanotechnology and converging technologies, and synthetic biology. He holds advanced degrees in political science from the University of Heidelberg and the Free University of Berlin. His most recent publications include, “The politics of human enhancement and the European Union” (with M. Smits and M. Schuijff) in Enhancing Human Capacities (2011), “Engineering of intelligent artefacts” (with K. Böhle, M. Decker, and M. Rader) in Making Perfect Life.
